We advocate for solutions that prioritize speed-to-power while protecting energy reliability and affordability—to accelerate U.S. innovation while being good stewards to local communities.

The AI Energy Management Alliance brings together diverse technologies that enable AI data centers to flexibly control their power draw from the grid. Here are a few examples among many such technologies:

Flexible facilities can shift, pause, or limit select computing jobs during periods of peak demand, reducing grid strain while meeting AI performance standards.

A consortium of AI and energy leaders have proven data center flexibility in demonstrations around the world to provide relief whenever the grid is strained, such as when air conditioners surge on a hot summer day in Arizona or when 1 GW of tea kettle use spikes at halftime of the football in the United Kingdom.
NVIDIA, Emerald AI, and partners launch 100-MW power-flexible AI factory
The NVIDIA AI Factory Research Center in Manassas, Virginia, in partnership with Emerald AI, Digital Realty, EPRI, PJM, and Dominion Energy, is proving at commercial scale in 2026 that AI workloads can dynamically provide relief during periods of peak grid strain.
Google integrates 1 GW of demand response capacity with U.S. utilities
Google successfully integrated 1 GW of demand response capacity into long-term energy contracts, shifting or reducing energy demand to make electricity systems serving their data centers more affordable and reliable.
