Advancing AI flexibility for responsible growth.
AEMA champions AI innovation, affordable energy, and a reliable grid.
The AI Energy Management Alliance is a coalition dedicated to unlocking affordable, reliable power through flexible AI. By reducing grid strain during times of peak demand, we can curb—and even reduce—utility rates for American households while securing reliable energy for homes, schools, and hospitals in local communities. And by recognizing flexible AI as a grid asset, we can unlock an additional 100 GW from our existing grid while reducing the interconnection bottleneck.
AEMA is the next evolution of the Advanced Energy Management Alliance, founded in 2014 to advance energy innovations while improving the efficiency of the electric grid. Building upon long-standing relationships with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy, state utility commissions, and policymakers, AEMA relaunched in 2026 as the AI Energy Management Alliance to meet a critical moment in the United States: deploying AI infrastructure to advance innovation and global competitiveness while supporting the communities that host data centers. AEMA champions policies that accelerate speed-to-power and reduce the 5–10 year interconnection backlog for new AI facilities, while protecting energy affordability and reliability. Leveraging flexible AI as a grid-enhancing resource, we can continue to advance innovation and economic expansion.
Our mission
Why we exist:
AEMA advocates for the accelerated interconnection of flexible, grid-enhancing data centers to unlock speed-to-power across the United States. By championing policies that recognize and value demand flexibility, AEMA supports the nation’s technology leadership while strengthening grid reliability and protecting energy affordability for all ratepayers.
Our vision
What we’re working toward:
An energy-secure America leading the global AI race, powered by advanced data centers that can rapidly integrate into the U.S. electric system—strengthening the shared grid to deliver a resilient, reliable, and affordable energy future for all.
